Program Description

Nellie McClung provides junior high programming for girls that emphasizes leadership, initiative, self-reliance and independence.

Program delivery

  • Classroom study focuses on four themes: building relationships, active and healthy living, citizenship and looking toward the future

  • Uniform or dress code at some schools

Fees

Students enrolled in Nellie McClung do not pay a registration fee. Students may need to pay some fees to cover the cost of field trips and other activities, but the costs are often subsidized by school councils or the Nellie L. McClung Educational Society. Eligibility

Students must be in Grades 7 to 9. Contact a school offering Nellie McClung for information about eligibility and programming options.

Alberta curriculum

All Edmonton Public Schools programming is based on curriculum determined by Alberta Education. Students enrolled in Nellie McClung will receive the same high-quality education offered in all of our programs.
